9. Forward, Deflect, Parry and Punch   (¶i¨B·hÄd´¨)

1. Relax hip joints and transfer weight to the right leg. Raise the left foot ball, turn waist/hip to turn left foot outward 45°.

2. Lower the right hand gradually to waist level to line up both hands opposite the hips

3. Shift weight onto the left leg, raise left arm slightly to make palm face right, right hand make a fist under the left palm at waist level. Move right foot tip-toe close to left foot.

4. Swing right foot, step forward to the right corner, heel first, then step down with full weight. Right fist flips to the right side with elbow bent. This is a deflect (blocking) move.

5. Put weight on right leg, lift left heel off the ground, take a big step to move forward in a slight curve to the left side of the center line, heel down. Withdraw fist to "hide" near the right waist. Move left arm to the center along the track of a semi-circle, palm faces right, fingers slightly up. This is parry.

6. Briefly squat to transfer weight to the left foot, turn waist/hip left, withdraw left hand, extend right arm to punch fist in front with a slight bent elbow. While forming a left bow stance, coordinate the weight tranfer, left and right arm movements so that they finish at the same time. All rules of the bow stance apply.
